Their soft bleating and the murmuring of the gales among the solo tree on the mountaintop were his constant companions. Day upon day, looking out for his responsibilities inculcated in him a feeling of tranquil contentment.

Tales of predators preying on sheep had long been circulating in the village. So, the boy decided to used this fear and played a joke on the villagers.
One afternoon he raced into the village yelling “Wolf! A wolf is attacking my sheep!” The website frightened villagers rushed up the hills for rescue but saw nothing threatening.
The boy giggled at the dilemma on their faces. This game persisted for a couple of more days. However, one noon, a real wolf actually charge at the herd. The shepherd boy raced for aid screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.
Frustrated and alone, the boy fought against the wolf but managed to protect only few of his flock. Devastated, he returned to the town only to receive a reprimand on honesty and the results of dishonesty.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been passed down generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the risks of crying wolf. Moreover, it highlights how trust once violated, is hard to reclaim. It's a story as relevant today as it was anciently.
